I'm Mrs. Milly Garcia; 2016-17 will be my 27th year at St. Cecilia's.
I am originally from Council Bluffs (a St. Albert graduate), and have a B.A. and M.A. in English from Creighton, where I taught English for 10 years. My husband is a retired Professor of English at Creighton University. My 3 kids are all graduates of St. C's; my oldest, Alex, is a Central High grad and Creighton grad (history major) who served two years in Peace Corps in Morocco; he currently works for Peace Corps Response in Washington, D.C., lives in Baltimore, and is working on a Master's in Spiritual and Pastoral Care. My daughter-in-law, Laura, is a nurse practitioner with an MSN from Johns Hopkins; she is medical director for a public health clinic in Baltimore called Healthcare for the Homeless. My son Philip, a Central grad, lives in Omaha. My daughter, Elizabeth, a Mercy High graduate, has a BSN from Creighton and is an ICU/Trauma nurse at the Nebraska Medical Center. I'm a parishioner and EME at the Cathedral.
I lived in this neighborhood 33 years and love it; although we downsized and moved just across the river last summer, the Cathedral neighborhood will always be "my" neighborhood. My interests include writing, reading, Holocaust education, interfaith education, history, and travel (particularly international travel!), and cooking. I've been to Canada, England, Ireland, Israel, Morocco, spent one night in Spain, and have been to about half the states in the U.S., and hope to visit many more places. I love teaching, and I love middle schoolers! Contact me anytime on Sycamore Pass-a-Note or at [email protected].

in Morocco?
